Yya, tu, dharmkaamaarthaan, dhrtya, dhaaryate, Arjun,
Prsangen, falaakaankshi, dhrtiH, saa, paarth, raajsi ||34||
Translation: (Tu) but (paarth) oh son of Pritha (Arjun) Arjun! (falaakaankshi) a person desirous of fruits (yya) which (dhrtya) by steadfastness (prsangen) with strong attachment (dharmkaamaarthaan) dharm, wealth and pleasures (dhaaryate) acquires / adopts (saa) that (dhrtiH) steadfastness (raajsi) is Rajsi. (34)
But of son of Pritha Arjun! The steadfastness by which a person desirous of fruits adopts dharm (religion/righteousness), wealth and pleasures with strong attachment – that steadfastness is Rajsi.
यया, तु, धर्मकामार्थान्, धृत्या, धारयते, अर्जुन,
प्रसंगेन, फलाकाङ्क्षी, धृृतिः, सा, पार्थ, राजसी।।34।।
अनुवाद: (तु) परंतु (पार्थ) हे पृथापुत्रा (अर्जुन) अर्जुन! (फलाकाङ्क्षी) फलकी इच्छावाला मनुष्य (यया) जिस (धृत्या) धारणशक्तिके द्वारा (प्रसंगेन) अत्यन्त आसक्तिसे (धर्मकामार्थान्) धर्म, अर्थ और कामोंको (धारयते) धारण करता है (सा) वह (धृतिः) धारणभक्ति (राजसी) राजसी है। (34)
