Chapter 2 Verse 66

Na, asti, buddhiH, ayuktasya, na, ch, ayuktasya, bhaavna,
Na, ch, abhaavyatH, shaantiH, ashaantasya, kutH, sukham ||66||

Translation: (Ayuktasya) in a man who has not overpowered his mind and senses (buddhiH) steadfast intellect (na) not (asti) is (ch) and (ayuktasya) in the inner-self of that man with uncontrolled mind (bhaavna) emotions also (na) are not (ch) and (abhaavyatH) an emotionless person (shaantiH) peace (na) does not get and (ashaantasya) a man devoid of peace (sukham) happiness (kutH) how can he get? (66)

Translation

A man who has not overpowered his mind and senses does not have steadfast intellect and in the inner-self of that man with uncontrolled mind, there are no emotions. And an emotionless person does not attain peace. How can a person devoid of peace attain happiness?

Meaning

A devotee whose doubts are not cleared i.e. who does not find a Tatvdarshi saint, as a result of which instead of doing bhakti of one Supreme God, keeps performing various other religious practices and desiring different things. That devotee does not gain anything.


न, अस्ति, बुद्धिः, अयुक्तस्य, न, च, अयुक्तस्य, भावना,
न, च, अभावयतः, शान्तिः, अशान्तस्य, कुतः, सुखम्।।66।।

अनुवाद: (अयुक्तस्य) न जीते हुए मन और इन्द्रियोंवाले पुरुषमें (बुद्धिः) निश्चयात्मिका बुद्धि (न) नहीं (अस्ति) होती (च) और उस (अयुक्तस्य) अयुक्त मनुष्यके अन्तःकरणमें (भावना) भावना भी (न) नहीं होती (च) तथा (अभावयतः) भावनाहीन मनुष्यको (शान्तिः) शान्ति (न) नहीं मिलती और (अशान्तस्य) शान्तिरहित मनुष्यको (सुखम्) सुख (कुतः) कैसे मिल सकता है?(66)

भावार्थ:- जिस साधक का संश्य निवार्ण नहीं हो जाता अर्थात् जिसे तत्वदर्शी संत नहीं मिलता जिससे उसकी बुद्धि एक परमात्मा की भक्ति के स्थान पर नाना प्रकार की साधना व कामना करता रहता है, उस साधक को कोई लाभ नहीं होता।
