Aabrahmbhuvnaat, lokaaH, punraavartinH, Arjun,
Mam, upetya, tu, kauntey, punarjanm, na, vidhyate ||16||
Translation: (Arjun) Oh Arjun! (aabrahmbhuvnaat) upto Brahm lok (lokaH) all the loks (punraavartinH) are subject to repeated creation and destruction (tu) but (kauntey) Oh son of Kunti, (na, vidhyate) those who do not know this (mam) me (upetya) even after attaining (punH) again (janmH) are born. (16)
Translation
Oh Arjun! All the loks upto Brahmlok are subject to repeated creation and destruction. But oh son of Kunti, those who do not know this, they even after attaining me are reborn.
Important
In the Gita published from Gita Press Gorakhpur, in Adhyay 10 Shlok 17 the meaning of ‘vidhyaam’ is written as ‘janoo’ (I should know); in Gita Adhyay 6 Shlok 23 and Adhyay 14 Shlok 11, the meaning of ‘vidhyaat’ has been written as ‘Jaanna chaahiye’ (should know), and in Gita Adhyay 15 Shlok 15 and in Gita Adhyay 9 Shlok 17 the meanings of ‘vedhyaH’ and ‘vedhyam’ has been written as ‘jaanne yogye’ (worthy of being known) and ‘jaanna chaahiye’ (should know) respectively. Therefore, the meaning of ‘vidhyate’ as ‘jaante’ (know) is correct.
If the meaning of these Shloks 15-16 by the other translators is considered to be correct that after attaining Brahm (the giver of the knowledge of Gita) one does not have rebirth, then the meaning of Gita Adhyay 2 Shlok 12, Adhyay 4 Shlok 5 and 9, and Adhyay 15 Shlok 4 and Adhyay 18 Shlok 62 will not seem to be correct. Therefore, the above-mentioned translation, which has been done by me, Das (Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj), is correct.
आब्रह्मभुवनात्, लोकाः, पुनरावर्तिनः, अर्जुन,
माम्, उपेत्य, तु, कौन्तेय, पुनर्जन्म, न, विद्यते।।16।।
अनुवाद: (अर्जुन) हे अर्जुन! (आब्रह्मभुवनात्) ब्रह्मलोक से लेकर (लोकाः) सब लोक (पुनरावर्तिनः) बारम्बार उत्पत्ति नाश वाले हैं (तु) परन्तु (कौन्तेय) हे कुन्ती पुत्रा (न, विद्यते) जो यह नहीं जानते वे (माम्) मुझे (उपेत्य) प्राप्त होकर भी (पुनः) फिर (जन्मः) जन्मते हैं। (16)
केवल हिन्दी अनुवाद: हे अर्जुन! ब्रह्मलोक से लेकर सब लोक बारम्बार उत्पत्ति नाश वाले हैं परन्तु हे कुन्ती पुत्रा जो यह नहीं जानते वे मुझे प्राप्त होकर भी फिर जन्मते हैं। (16)
विशेष:- गीताप्रैस गोरखपुर से प्रकाशित गीता अध्याय 10 श्लोक 17 में विद्याम का अर्थ जानूँ किया है, गीता अध्याय 6 श्लोक 23 तथा अध्याय 14 श्लोक 11 में विद्यात का अर्थ जानना चाहिए किया है तथा गीता अध्याय 15 श्लोक 15 में तथा गीता अध्याय 9 श्लोक 17 में वेद्यः तथा वेद्यम् का अर्थ जानने योग्य तथा जानना चाहिए किया है। इसलिए विद्यते का अर्थ ‘जानते‘ सही है। यदि इन श्लोकों 15-16 का अर्थ अन्य अनुवाद कर्ताओं वाला सही माना जाए कि ब्रह्म (गीता ज्ञान दाता को) को प्राप्त होने के पश्चात् पुर्नजन्म नहीं होता तो गीता अध्याय 2 श्लोक 12ए अध्याय 4 श्लोक 5 व 9 तथा अध्याय 15 श्लोक 4 तथा अध्याय 18 श्लोक 62 का अर्थ सही नहीं लगेगा। इसलिए यही उपरोक्त अनुवाद जो मुझ दास(संत रामपाल जी महाराज) द्वारा किया गया है वह उचित है।
