Chapter 2 Verse 67

Indriyaanaam, hi, chartaam, yat, manH, anu, vidheeyate,
Tat, asya, harti, prgyaam, vaayuH, naavam, iv, ambhasi ||67||

Translation: (Hi) because (iv) just as (ambhasi) one which moves on water (naavam) boat (vaayuH) wind (harti) sweeps away; likewise (chartaam) wandering in objects of senses (indriyaanaam) among senses (manH) mind (yat) the sense, whose (anu) incomplete (vidheeyate) becomes based on the knowledge of (tat) as a result of which/ when (asya) of this man with uncontrolled mind (prgyaam) intelligence is carried away. (67)

Translation

Because just as the wind sweeps away a boat moving on water; likewise, the intelligence of a man with unrestrained mind is carried away when the mind becomes based on the incomplete knowledge of a sense among the senses wandering in the sense objects.


इन्द्रियाणाम्, हि, चरताम्, यत्, मनः, अनु, विधीयते,
तत्, अस्य, हरति, प्रज्ञाम्, वायुः, नावम्, इव, अम्भसि।।67।।

अनुवाद: (हि) क्योंकि (इव) जैसे (अम्भसि) जलमें चलनेवाली (नावम्) नावको (वायुः) वायु (हरति) हर लेती है वैसे ही (चरताम्) विषयोंमें विचरती हुई (इन्द्रियाणाम्) इन्द्रियोंमेंसे (मनः) मन (यत्) जिस इन्द्रियके (अनु) अधूरे (विधीयते) ज्ञान पर आधारित हो जाता है (तत्) जिस कारण से (अस्य) इस अयुक्त पुरुष की (प्रज्ञाम्) बुद्धि हर ली जाती है। (67)
