Important: From Shlok 1 to 3, there is description of those pious souls, who have been doing scripture-based worship i.e. worship according to the Vedas since their previous human births, who do their worship only by ‘Om’ mantra of Brahm and do not worship other gods. Even then, because of absence of the Tatvdarshi Saint (who has been mentioned in Gita Adhyay 4 Shlok 34), this is also futile.

Translation: (Abhayam) fearless (sattvsanshuddhiH) complete purity of inner-self (gyaanyogvyavasthitiH) knowledgeable (ch) and (daanm) charity (damH) self-control (yagyaH) performance of yagya (swaadhyaayH) study of religious scriptures (tapH) penance in the form of bearing hardships in the path of bhakti (ch) and (aarjavam) submissiveness. (1)
Fearlessness, complete purity of inner-self, knowledgeable and charity, self-control, performance of yagya, study of religious scriptures, penance in the form of bearing hardships in the path of bhakti and submissiveness.
विशेष: - श्लोक 1 से 3 तक में उन पुण्यात्माओं का विवरण है जो पिछले मानव जन्मों में वेदों अनुसार अर्थात् शास्त्रा अनुकूल साधना करते हुए आ रहे हैं, जो अपनी साधना ब्रह्म के ओ3म् मंत्रा से ही करते थे, आन उपासना नहीं करते थे। फिर भी तत्वदर्शी संत (जो गीता अध्याय 4 श्लोक 34 में कहा है) के अभाव से यह भी व्यर्थ है।
अभयम्, सत्त्वसंशुद्धिः, ज्ञानयोगव्यवस्थितिः,
दानम्, दमः, च, यज्ञः, च, स्वाध्यायः, तपः, आर्जवम्।।1।।
अनुवाद: (अभयम्) निर्भय (सत्वसंशुद्धि) अन्तःकरणकी पूर्ण निर्मलता (ज्ञानयोगव्यवस्थितिः) ज्ञानी (च) और (दानम्) दान (दमः) संयम (यज्ञः) यज्ञ करनेसे (स्वाध्यायः) धार्मिक शास्त्रों पठन पाठन (तपः) भक्ति मार्ग में कष्ट सहना रूपी तप (च) और (आर्जवम्) आधीनता। (1)
